Company Registry
Below, you can find initial guidance on how to identify whether your customer is registered with the relevant company registry, as well as information on whether the registration data is accessible online and the scope of this access.
Our focus is on providing you with the ultimate public website, offering information on the availability of data and the circumstances in which it is accessible. Based on our own experience, we know how time-consuming it can be to identify a comprehensive public resource explaining how to verify potential customers. This applies whether it is independent due diligence or direct dialogue between potential parties.
Unfortunately, due to the practicalities of the website, we are unable to provide you with extended details. Therefore, we do not distinguish between the different names of company registers under different jurisdictions. Our focus is on registers that collect data on the majority of business entities in different countries. Whenever we mention full access to a company’s data, we exclude beneficial owner data from that, and assume that it includes data on the company’s bodies, particularly the names of persons entitled to represent an entity. We recommend using the [MORE] icon, where you will find further useful instructions regarding access to the registry (e.g. we have tried to indicate when an applicant needs a special eID to request access to a registry).
Please note that, as a rule, data provided online is not legally binding; therefore, it is always recommended that you request official certificates from the registry.
